Transparency & Trust at the Heart of Our Practice

At Resolve Hypnotherapy, we believe clear communication and ethical practice are essential to your healing journey. These pages outline how we protect your privacy, what to expect from our services, and the boundaries of hypnotherapy as a complementary practice.

Terms of Service

Last Updated: December 2025

Agreement to Terms

By booking a session, visiting our website, or engaging with Resolve Hypnotherapy services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please do not use our services.

These terms apply to all clients, regardless of whether sessions are conducted in-person in Creston, BC, or online via secure video conferencing.

1. Nature of Hypnotherapy Services

Resolve Hypnotherapy provides

complementary mental health support through clinical hypnotherapy
. Our services are:

  • Designed to support personal growth, stress reduction, anxiety management, trauma recovery, and behavioral change.
  • Not a substitute for medical diagnosis, treatment, or psychiatric care.
  • Not a replacement for psychotherapy, counselling, or other licensed mental health treatments.
  • Tailored to individual needs, and results vary by person and presenting concern.

Steve Morrison is a certified hypnotherapist in good standing with the International Association of Counselors and Therapists (IACT) and the International Medical and Dental Hypnotherapy Association (IMDHA). He is not a licensed physician, psychiatrist, or psychologist.

2. Client Eligibility & Health Screening

To ensure your safety and the effectiveness of hypnotherapy, clients should:

  • Be at least 16 years of age (minors require parental/guardian consent).
  • Disclose all relevant health conditions, medications, and mental health history during the initial consultation.
  • Inform us of any conditions that may affect your ability to be hypnotized or engage in sessions (e.g., psychosis, severe dissociative disorders).
  • Be willing to engage openly and honestly in the therapeutic process.

Important:
If you are currently in crisis, experiencing suicidal thoughts, or require emergency mental health intervention, please contact emergency services (911) or a crisis hotline instead of booking a hypnotherapy session.

3. Session Scheduling, Booking & Cancellation

A. Booking a Session

  • Sessions are scheduled through our online booking system or by direct contact.
  • A confirmation email will be sent with session details, payment information, and pre-session instructions.
  • Initial consultations (30 minutes) are offered to discuss your concerns and determine if hypnotherapy is appropriate for you.

B. Cancellation & Rescheduling

Full refund or reschedule at no charge.
  • Cancellations with less than 24 hours notice:
50% of session fee is retained; reschedule available.
  • No-show (missed appointment without notice):
    Full session fee is charged.
  • Rescheduling requests should be made as early as possible to secure your preferred time.

C. Late Arrival

Sessions begin at the scheduled time. If you arrive late, the session may be shortened to maintain fairness to other clients, but you will still be charged the full session fee.

4. Payment Terms & Pricing

  • Session fees:
Sliding scale ($100–$150 per hour-long session) to ensure accessibility.
  • Package discounts:
Discounted rates available for multi-session commitments.
  • Payment methods:
Accepted via secure payment processors (Stripe, PayPal, e-transfer).

Refunds are issued for cancellations made 24+ hours in advance.

5. Client Responsibilities & Expectations

To create a safe, effective therapeutic environment, clients agree to:

  • Arrive on time, sober, and in a calm mental state (free from alcohol, drugs, or severe emotional distress).
  • Provide honest, accurate information about health history, current medications, and therapeutic goals.
  • Communicate openly during sessions about your experiences, concerns, and progress.
  • Respect professional boundaries and the therapist-client relationship.

  • Understand that hypnotherapy results are not guaranteed and vary by individual.
  • Continue with other recommended medical or psychiatric treatments as advised by your healthcare provider.

6. Professional Boundaries & Conduct

Resolve Hypnotherapy maintains strict professional boundaries:

  • Sessions are professional interactions only; no romantic, sexual, or dual relationships are permitted.
  • The therapist-client relationship ends when sessions conclude.
  • Physical contact is limited to professional, appropriate gestures (e.g., handshake).
  • All communication outside sessions is professional and documented.
  • The practitioner will not provide personal advice on matters outside the scope of hypnotherapy.

Violation of Boundaries:
If any client feels uncomfortable or experiences inappropriate behavior, they may terminate services immediately and contact the relevant professional regulatory body.

7. Online Session Policies (Zoom/Video Sessions)

  • Privacy:
Choose a private location for online sessions; we cannot control your environment.
  • Technology:
Ensure a stable internet connection and a device with video/audio capabilities.
  • Recording:
Sessions may not be recorded without explicit written consent.
  • Interruptions:
Inform household members that you are in a confidential session.
  • Security:
All sessions are conducted on secure, HIPAA-compliant platforms.
  • Technical Issues:
If connection is lost, the practitioner will attempt to reconnect; if unsuccessful after 15 minutes, the session will be rescheduled.

  • There is imminent risk of harm to yourself or others.
  • Child abuse, elder abuse, or abuse of vulnerable adults is disclosed or suspected.

Resolve Hypnotherapy reserves the right to terminate the therapeutic relationship if:
