Before the incident, life was "generally good."
At least, that's what I told myself. On the surface, I was getting by. But deep down, I knew I wasn't truly happy or fulfilled. I was driving chip trucks, performing menial tasks, and living for the weekend.
I remember the week before everything changed. I was sitting in the cab of my truck, staring out at the road, and I said to myself: "There must be more to life than this... and I know I'm supposed to be doing something different."
Maybe you know that feeling. The long hours away from home. The disconnection from any real purpose. The stress of a lifestyle where drinking and drugs are accepted just to cope with the grind. I was living life on autopilot.
I didn't know it then, but my subconscious mind was screaming for a change. And since I wasn't listening, it decided to use my body to get the message across.
The Turning Point: January 2020
It was the end of a long shift. 1:00 AM.
The weather was that miserable mix of rain and snow that chills you to the bone. I was tarping up double trailers full of wood shavings. I was standing in six inches of freezing mud and slush, bearing down with everything I had to pull a 400-pound tarp over the load.
My left leg slipped.
POP.
The searing pain was instant.
Cracking the Code
That injury ended my career in the industry. But it started my life.
What followed was a year of battling with the Workers' Compensation Board (WCB), physical pain, and uncertainty. I was adrift without purpose. But in that downtime—that "gift of time" as I see it now—I stumbled onto something profound.
I discovered psychology, which led me to hypnotherapy.
I enrolled in a Basic Hypnosis course, skeptical but curious. I underwent hypnosis myself to address a deep-seated fear I didn't even know I had. In that session, I saw clearly how our beliefs are formed with the limited understanding of a child.
By reframing that memory with an adult perspective, the fear vanished.
Why "Resolve" is Different
During my training with the International Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy Academy (IHHA), I realized why traditional therapy often fails people like us.
Traditional talk therapy acts on the conscious level. It's an intellectual conversation. You can talk about your problems for years—literally years—without ever resolving the root cause buried in your subconscious.
Hypnotherapy is different. It bypasses the "critical factor" of the conscious mind and goes straight to the source.
-
✓
No years of treatment: Most issues are resolved in as few as 3 to 5 sessions.
-
✓
Root cause resolution: We don't just manage symptoms; we reframe the beliefs that cause them.
-
✓
Empowerment: It's not about me "fixing" you. It's about guiding you to fix yourself.
My Life Today: Purpose & Passion
Today, my life is regimented by choice, not by a dispatcher. I start with meditation. I do my physiotherapy. I volunteer as a community support worker at the Den Society, helping those who have slipped through the cracks.
And I run Resolve Hypnotherapy .
I realized that only 5-10% of people ever find their true purpose. The rest play it safe. They stay in their lane because the risk of change incites fear. They stay in the "mud and slush" because it's familiar.
I created Resolve Hypnotherapy to help you get out of the mud. Whether you are dealing with trauma, anxiety, or just the nagging feeling that you are living on autopilot—there is a way out.
